Workshop Göttingen 27-28 September 2022
Objectives of the Workshop We are happy to present our project at the midterm workshop in September this year. We would like to explore the demand for tree species maps, training data and management recommendations. Moreover, we want to provide an informal opportunity for information exchange about remote sensing in combination with deep learning during this two-day Workshop. Location: Historical Observatory, Geismar Landstraße 11, 37083 Göttingen Contact and Registration: Karolina Pietras-Couffignal: Karolina.pietras@thuenen.de For more information and programme of the workshop please see below:
Project Meeting
In the beginning of November 2021 we had our project meeting at the University of Göttingen. During a field trip to the Reinhardswald forest, we had the opportunity to compare and discuss the results of the remote sensing analysis and the national forest inventory recordings in the forest.
By directly checking the remote sensing products in the forest, we gained important insights on the inventory and remote sensing data characteristics. This will allow us to improve the data processing and will help us increasing the accuracy of the tree species classification.
